Chester Arnold
Chester Arnold is a Sonoma-based painter, teacher, and nationally exhibited artist whose expressive, narrative-rich paintings often explore the contemporary world, landscape, and human experience. He earned an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and has shown widely in solo and group exhibitions on both coasts, including a major career-spanning survey at the Fresno Art Museum in 2022, and is represented by Catharine Clark Gallery.
His work is held in significant public collections such as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Crocker Art Museum, the Nevada Museum of Art, the di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art, and the San Jose Museum of Art, and he has also taught art for decades at institutions including the College of Marin. Arnold is recognized locally as a “Treasure Artist” in Sonoma for his contributions as both artist and educator.
