Brigitte McReynolds

born in Rosenheim, Germany, Brigitte is a Sonoma-based painter whose dynamic work blends abstraction and figurative expression, exploring the human form through layers of oil, acrylic, and encaustic paint with luminous color and texture. She studied art in Munich and Italy before moving to California, and has exhibited widely in galleries and museums throughout the U.S. and abroad. McReynolds’s practice is a continuous investigation of process, shape, and emotion, creating works that are both personal and universal in their visual impact.

Moving from Germany has not only changed my life and my view of the world, it has changed the way I see and, naturally, my work as an artist. We live in fast times where mystery is hard to believe. Painting is magical, transforming internal abundance. Events become timeless happenings. Symbols, archetypes and beauty resonate in us, creating a sense of wonder about life. My love for creating is unconditional.
